Terms of use

Plain-English terms for the Cagebox beta. These apply to everyone who creates an account and starts a paid subscription. By creating an account or paying for a plan you accept these terms.

Who we are

Cagebox is operated by Kostiantyn Palianychka, autónomo registered in Spain (NIE Z0393931S), based in 03540 Alacant, España. Contact: support@cagebox.dev. For paper correspondence, request the postal address by email.

Beta access

Cagebox is in beta. Behaviour, APIs, capacity limits, and prices may change during beta — we will tell you before any change that affects what you are paying for. If we have to take the service down, reset a host, or wipe something destructive, we will email you first whenever it is humanly possible.

Plans, prices, and tax

Plans are billed monthly through Stripe in US dollars. Prices shown on our site (currently Hobby $5/mo, Starter $10/mo, Pro $20/mo) are the final amount you pay. Where local VAT or equivalent consumption tax applies (Spanish IVA, EU consumer VAT, etc.), it is included in that price and remitted by us to the relevant authority. Model API costs (OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter, etc.) are paid directly to those providers and never pass through us.

When the service starts and your 14-day right of withdrawal

Under EU consumer law you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from distance contracts for digital services. Cagebox is a hosted compute service that is delivered to you the moment your subscription is active — your microVM is provisioned, your gateway is registered, and your agent can start receiving messages within seconds. By subscribing to a paid plan and accepting these terms at checkout, you expressly request that the service begin immediately and acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right of withdrawal once it does. The act of subscribing is that express request.

If you change your mind before you create your first agent and within 14 days of payment, email support@cagebox.dev and we will issue a full refund. Once you create an agent the service has begun in full.

Free trial. New customers may start the Starter plan with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is required at checkout, but nothing is charged during the trial. Your first payment of $10/month is taken automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before then — you can cancel any time during the trial from the Billing page (Stripe customer portal) and you will not be billed. We email a reminder 3 days before the trial ends. The trial is available once per customer.

Refunds

Other than the 14-day right of withdrawal described above, paid plans are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page (which opens the Stripe-hosted customer portal) and your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period — your agents continue working until that date. Downgrades are prorated by Stripe and the credit applies to your next invoice.

If our service fails on our side and your agent is unreachable for more than 24 cumulative hours within a billing period through our fault, contact support@cagebox.dev and we will refund the affected pro-rata portion. This applies regardless of the waiver above — EU consumer law requires it and we agree.

What happens when a subscription ends

When your subscription ends — whether you cancel it from the Billing page or a payment fails after Stripe's standard retry attempts — your existing agents are paused immediately and their overlay disks (containing everything inside the VM) are retained for 30 days. During those 30 days you cannot create new agents or wake the paused ones, but the data is preserved. If you re-subscribe within that window your agents resume exactly where they left off. After 30 days the disks are permanently deleted and the agents can no longer be recovered.

Your data is yours

You own the prompts, configs, conversations, and outputs your agent produces. We provide hosting and isolation. We do not claim any right to use your data to train models or build features. Processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy policy. For the purposes of GDPR, Kostiantyn Palianychka is the data controller for personal data we hold about you (account email, billing information, audit logs). You have the rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD, aepd.es).

Acceptable use

Don't use Cagebox to generate abusive or illegal content, to attack third-party systems, to spam, or to mine cryptocurrency inside the VM. We host long-running stateful agents; if your workload is obviously hostile to other tenants or to the wider internet, we will shut it down.

No SLA during beta

The service is provided "as is", with no uptime guarantee and no warranty beyond what local consumer-protection law forces us to accept. Don't run anything load-bearing on Cagebox while we are in beta. We will refund pro-rata under "Refunds" above when downtime is on our side; beyond that, our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, to the extent the law allows such a limitation.

We can suspend or terminate access

If a Cagebox-hosted agent is being used to harm users, violate the law, or attack third parties, we may suspend or terminate the account without prior notice. We will email you what happened and why, and you can appeal by replying to that email.

Complaints and dispute resolution

Send complaints to support@cagebox.dev. We aim to respond within one month. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes to an existing paid subscription we will email you at least 30 days in advance. If you do not accept the new terms you may cancel before the change takes effect and the change will not apply to you.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alicante, except that consumers resident in the EU retain the right under Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 to bring proceedings in the courts of their place of residence.
